Join Our Team as an Advisory Teacher - Fostering!

Location: Ashurst, Hampshire

Contract: Term time only

Hours: 3 days per week (21 hours)

Salary: £36,000 pro rata

Your Role

As an Advisory Teacher , you will play a crucial role in supporting the education of children across the South region. You will collaborate with foster carers, schools, and a network of professionals to ensure that every child’s educational needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on educational provisions for children within the centre.
  • Monitor the educational progress of all children associated with the centre.
  • Provide support to centre staff on educational matters.
  • Assist in developing educational support policies and procedures.
  • Attend multi-disciplinary team meetings to advise on childcare and personal education plans.
  • Liaise effectively with professionals to meet each child's educational needs.
  • Work in partnership with children, young people, foster parents, and professionals to support assessment and planning processes.
  • Offer advice to schools as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and effective education case records.
  • Build relationships with schools, virtual schools, and local authority professionals.
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Relevant classroom experience.
  • Flexibility and creativity in supporting children's education.
  • Strong decision-making skills to resolve complex educational issues.
  • Understanding of the educational needs and entitlements for children and young people.
  • Experience working with looked-after children is a plus!
