About

LifeBridge Health, a leading regional healthcare organization in Maryland, is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Sonographer to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. As a Sonographer, you will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations to support accurate clinical decision-making and compassionate patient care across a diverse patient population. Working in collaboration with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other clinical professionals, you will use advanced ultrasound equipment to obtain and analyze diagnostic images, ensuring that all studies are performed according to established protocols, safety standards, and best practices. In this role, you will greet and prepare patients for exams, verify patient identity and medical history, explain procedures in a clear and reassuring manner, and position patients to obtain optimal images while maintaining comfort and dignity. You will operate and adjust ultrasound equipment to capture diagnostic images, recognize normal and abnormal findings, and document and label images accurately in the imaging and electronic health record systems. You will communicate significant or urgent findings promptly to the appropriate provider and collaborate with the care team to support timely diagnosis and treatment. The Sonographer will maintain exam rooms and equipment in a clean, safe, and ready state, perform basic quality control checks, and promptly report any equipment issues. You will adhere to infection prevention, radiation and ultrasound safety guidelines, and LifeBridge Health policies and procedures at all times. You will contribute to workflow efficiency by prioritizing cases appropriately, assisting with scheduling needs, and supporting colleagues during high-volume periods. Aligned with LifeBridge Health’s culture of collaboration, innovation, and community engagement, you will participate in continuing education, competency assessments, and professional development activities to maintain and enhance your clinical skills. You will support orientation and mentoring of new team members or students as requested, share best practices with colleagues, and contribute ideas for improving imaging quality, patient experience, and departmental processes. This position offers the opportunity to build a rewarding career within a health system that values compassionate patient care, continuous improvement, and community well-being. Sonographers at LifeBridge Health benefit from exposure to a broad range of clinical cases, opportunities for cross-training and advancement, and the ability to make a meaningful impact on the health of patients and families throughout the communities we serve.
