About

*Renewable Energy Compliance & Data Technician*
*A structured, detail-focused role for people who take pride in accuracy*
*Location:* Hybrid — Falkirk (3 days per week)
*Salary:* £28,000–£32,000 + progression + bonuses
*Job Type:* Permanent (full-time or part-time, min. 4 days)
*About Us*
Your Energy Source is a growing consultancy and a UK leader in renewable energy grant applications, supporting thousands of systems across the UK.
Our work sits at the intersection of engineering, compliance, and government regulation. We help organisations access and maintain funding through schemes such as the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), Renewables Obligation (RO), and Combined Heat and Power Quality Assurance (CHPQA).
We’ve built our reputation on accuracy, reliability, and long-term client relationships. As we grow, we are looking for people who take pride in precise, high-quality work and want a stable, long-term role in a specialist industry.
*About the Role*
This is a detail-critical role focused on checking, validating, and submitting data for government-backed renewable energy schemes.
The work is structured and process-driven. Success comes from consistency, attention to detail, and following procedures carefully. This is not a creative or strategic role — it is best suited to individuals who enjoy methodical, repeatable tasks and take satisfaction in getting things right.
Errors in this role can have financial and compliance implications for clients, so accuracy and accountability are essential.
You will receive full training, clear processes, and ongoing support.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Collect, review, and submit energy and fuel consumption data
* Follow defined procedures to calculate greenhouse gas emissions
* Check data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
* Carry out strict quality-control checks before submission
* Maintain organised and auditable records
* Communicate clearly and professionally with clients
* Identify inconsistencies or issues and resolve them methodically
*What Success Looks Like*
* Work is consistently accurate and passes checks first time
* Deadlines are met without last-minute issues
* Clients receive clear, professional communication
* Processes are followed carefully and consistently
* Issues are identified early and resolved properly
*Who We’re Looking For*
It suits people who:
* Take pride in accuracy and attention to detail
* Prefer structured, process-driven work over fast-paced or creative environments
* Are comfortable working with repetitive tasks and maintaining high standards
* Follow procedures carefully rather than cutting corners
* Take responsibility for their work and outcomes
*This role suits people who take satisfaction in getting things right, rather than getting things done quickly.*
*Essential Skills*
* Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
* Good numeracy and confidence reviewing data in Excel
* High level of IT literacy
* Ability to follow detailed procedures accurately
* Clear and professional communication skills
* Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines independently
*Desirable (but not essential)*
* Degree in engineering, maths, physics, renewable energy, or similar
* Experience with RHI, RO, CHPQA, or similar compliance schemes
* Background in a technical, data, or compliance-focused role
*What We Offer*
* £28,000–£32,000 salary depending on experience
* Salary review and bonus opportunities after 12 months
* Clear progression opportunities for strong performers
* Hybrid working (3 days in Falkirk office)
* Part-time options (minimum 4 days)
* 34 days’ holiday, increasing with service
* 7% employer pension contribution
* Wellbeing support including counselling and EAP
* Structured training and development
* Family-friendly flexibility (school hours, appointments, etc.)
* Regular team activities (e.g. white-water rafting, go-karting)
*Work–Life Balance*
We prioritise a supportive, stable working environment. Our hybrid model, flexibility, and steady workload make this a strong option for those seeking long-term balance and security.
*Equality, Diversity & Inclusion*
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, ages, and life stages. We particularly encourage applications from those returning to work after a career break, as well as experienced professionals seeking a more structured and stable role.
*Join the Team*
If you’re looking for a long-term role where accuracy, reliability, and a methodical approach are genuinely valued — and where your work supports the growth of renewable energy in the UK — we’d be delighted to hear from you.
*Interviews will take place face-to-face at our Falkirk office.*
