Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a School Caretaker, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and secure environment for our students. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of school premises, including buildings and grounds.
- Performing cleaning, handy person activities, routine maintenance, and minor repairs.
- Supervising school cleaning staff and promoting health and safety.
- Carrying out porterage duties, such as moving furniture and equipment.
- Reporting any issues to the Head Teacher and arranging larger repairs.
- Conducting daily cleaning and ad-hoc duties, including litter picking and waste disposal.
- Managing emergency cleaning duties and arranging annual deep cleans.
- Maintaining security as the main key holder, including locking and unlocking premises.
- Conducting regular checks of security systems and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Providing safe access to the school during cold weather conditions.
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- Previous caretaking experience within a school environment.
- Experience in building maintenance and security systems.
- A solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Basic DIY skills and good interpersonal abilities.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- A full driving license and access to your own car.
- A willingness to travel between both school sites.
