About

About FirstVet
FirstVet is the first truly digital veterinary clinic. We let pet owners meet with licensed veterinarians via their mobile or computer — and we dont stop there. Weve expanded to include an e-commerce platform, offering a comprehensive solution for pet owners across 7 markets in Europe and North America. Our mission is simple: to make quality veterinary care accessible to every pet and pet owner, wherever they are.
Were a tech-driven company at heart, and the engineering team plays a central role in how we deliver on that mission. If youre passionate about building reliable, scalable infrastructure and want to do it in a place where your work genuinely matters, wed love to hear from you.
The role
In this role, you will support our product teams in maintaining and continuously improving the infrastructure that underpins our services. Youll be joining a small, two-person DevOps team — which means real ownership and broad exposure across everything we do. While the DevOps team is small, youll work closely with engineers across our four product teams, so collaboration and communication are a big part of the role. Were in an exciting phase where the business continues to grow and scale internationally, while at the same time were focused on maturing and hardening the technological foundation weve built. Our current focus is on operational excellence: strengthening our security posture and ensuring our infrastructure is as robust and reliable as it can be. Alongside the day‑to‑day, wed love for you to bring your own perspective — identifying gaps and proactively driving improvements.
Your responsibilities
Help maintain and improve the infrastructure, tooling, and delivery pipelines that allow our product teams to develop and operate their services efficiently and independently
Contribute to our ongoing security and compliance work, building infrastructure that conforms to industry best practices
Develop and improve our CI/CD pipelines as well as other automation tasks
Maintain and evolve our shared infrastructure component library, internal CLI tooling and AI platform
Drive initiatives to improve our observability foundation, enabling teams to better understand and operate their services
Proactively identify areas for improvement and take ownership of driving them forward
Share best practices and spread knowledge to other members of the team
The person we are looking for
We are looking for a junior DevOps Engineer who is curious, collaborative, and genuinely excited about taking ownership. You dont need to have all the answers on day one — what matters more is that youre motivated to learn, you spot things that could be better, and you do something about them. Youre comfortable supporting engineers across different teams and you understand the value of enabling others to work more independently. When you encounter a complex problem, you dig in, take ownership, and see it through to a solution.
Desired qualifications
Some hands‑on experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally on AWS
Familiarity with orchestration and containerization concepts such as Kubernetes, Docker, ECS or similar
Experience with or exposure to CI/CD pipelines and an understanding of how they work
Programming or scripting skills in a language such as TypeScript, Python, Bash or similar
Experience with or a keen interest in infrastructure as code frameworks such as Terraform, Pulumi or similar
A collaborative and communicative approach to working with engineers across teams
Fluency in English, written and spoken
What we offer
At FirstVet, youll be joining a team that genuinely cares about what its building and how it builds it. We value collaboration, trust, and giving people the space to do their best work. This role comes with real ownership from day one and plenty of room to grow. We offer a highly flexible, hybrid remote work environment — work from our Stockholm office or remotely, its up to you. And of course, it goes without saying that an interest in animals is highly desirable. Were a pet‑oriented organisation and its not unusual to run into our office dogs or for a cat to join our Hangout calls!
