About

Presbyterian Healthcare Services, a non-profit healthcare system based in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide evidence-based physical therapy evaluation and treatment to a diverse patient population across the continuum of care, including acute care, outpatient, and rehabilitation settings. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote optimal functional outcomes, safety, and quality of life. As a Physical Therapist at Presbyterian Healthcare Services, you will perform comprehensive patient assessments, including musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and functional mobility evaluations. You will establish measurable, patient-centered goals and deliver therapeutic interventions such as therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, balance and gait training, neuromuscular re-education, functional training, and patient and family education. You will document all care in the electronic medical record in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner, ensuring continuity and high standards of care. Aligned with Presbyterian’s culture of patient care, respect, integrity, accountability, and commitment to quality and safety, you will actively participate in care coordination, interdisciplinary rounds, and discharge planning to support safe transitions of care. You will educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safe mobility techniques, use of assistive devices, and strategies to prevent re-injury or hospital readmission. You will also contribute to quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice projects, and departmental performance goals that advance patient outcomes and community health. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, supportive environment that values professional growth and clinical excellence. You will have access to ongoing education, mentorship, and potential specialization in areas such as orthopedics, neurology, geriatrics, cardiopulmonary, or pediatric rehabilitation, depending on organizational needs and your interests. You may also supervise physical therapist assistants and assist in the clinical education of physical therapy students, modeling professional behavior and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards. Candidates should bring strong clinical reasoning skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. The ideal applicant is comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, managing a caseload efficiently while maintaining high quality and safety standards. This role requires flexibility to work in a hybrid environment that may include inpatient and outpatient settings and occasional weekend or holiday coverage as needed to support patient care. By joining Presbyterian Healthcare Services, you will be part of a mission-driven organization focused on improving health outcomes for the communities we serve. You will have the chance to make a meaningful impact on patients’ recovery, independence, and overall well-being while advancing your own professional development within a respected healthcare system.
