About

As an Sr. Advanced Software Engineer, you shall serve as a software development subject matter expert related to datalink technologies such as communication management functions (CMF), Flight Management Systems (FMS) and other mission-critical systems on various avionic platforms within a modern, robust development operations pipeline (DevOps). You will be expected to apply advanced software engineering skillsets, coordinate across hardware and software teams, and ensure compliance with all customer and regulatory requirements and act as mentor to more junior engineers.
You will work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule. No relocation offered.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership across CMF and FMS datalink systems.
Serve as subject matter expert for ATN technologies and avionic datalink systems.
Influence and evolve datalink software architectures.
Support strategic planning, technology roadmaps, and modernization efforts.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex software bugs and defects.
Participate in peer reviews, design reviews, and documentation activities for certification.
Collaborate across various functional and global engineering and project engineering teams.
Travel within U.S. and/or Internationally: 10%
Qualifications Must Have
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
At least 7 years of Software Engineering experience.
Proficient experience in C languages as well as higher-level languages.
Proven experience in datalink communications systems.

Advanced degrees (Master’s/Graduate) or recognized technical leadership credentials.
Expert knowledge of DO-178 certification and safety-critical software development.
Experience with ARINC 664, CPDLC or FANS datalink communication systems.
Experience with Aerospace, Airsim, Multisim, MATLAB, Teamcenter, DOORS, JIRA.
Working knowledge of industry standard communication protocols (ARINC, MIL-STD-1553, CAN).
Lab experience testing and verifying requirements of systems and software.
Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done.
Ability to adapt dictated by project changes.
Multi-tasking and the ability to manage a variety of complicated tasks.
Diverse thoughts and ideas; and experience teaming and collaboration with global Engineers.
An understanding of data and networking structures, protocols and apply analytical problem-solving methods.
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.
