Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs our Purchase Ledger Manager, you will play a vital role in our financial operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing purchase ledger systems, processes, and controls.
- Supervising, mentoring, and developing a dedicated purchase ledger team of 3 staff.
- Training and educating purchase order users to ensure smooth operations.
- Processing and authorizing weekly supplier payments in line with company procedures.
- Resolving queries from suppliers and other departments efficiently.
- Reconciling suppliers' monthly statements and assisting with month-end procedures.
- Supporting year-end accounts and providing necessary audit information.
- Monitoring and improving internal processes for greater efficiency.
- Reviewing and following up on any potentially fraudulent or duplicated invoices.
- Maintaining and developing fraud prevention controls, including supplier verification processes.
- Producing and reviewing aged creditor reports to ensure timely resolution of outstanding balances.
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following:
- Previous experience in purchase ledger, including familiarity with purchase order systems.
- Leadership or people development experience.
- Knowledge of accounting software.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work under strict deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a collaborative team spirit.
