Nursery Chef

Hourly Rate: £13.02 per hour - 25 hours per week

At Footsteps Atherstone Nursery and Pre-School , part of the Family First Group, we are on the lookout for a passionate Nursery Chef to join our vibrant team! This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work Monday to Friday , all year round, with a total of 25 hours each week.

Conveniently located on Old Watling Street in Atherstone, our nursery is just a short walk from the town center and the train station. Plus, we have on-site parking for your convenience!

As our Nursery Chef, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and welcoming kitchen environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, following hygiene protocols and completing the Kitchen Hygiene Checklist monthly.
• Ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the nursery.
• Preparing and cooking nutritious, age-appropriate meals for children, minimizing food waste.
• Communicating dietary requirements clearly with the nursery team.
• Adhering to dietary routines and procedures, including the Red, Amber, and Green plate measures.
• Collaborating with nursery staff and parents to promote healthy eating habits.
• Managing food orders within budget to ensure quality service.

To thrive in this role, you should possess:

• A solid understanding of dietary requirements and food allergies.
• Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
• Experience managing a catering budget while maintaining food service standards.
• Relevant cooking experience in either domestic or commercial settings.
• Fluency in written and spoken English (GCSE grade C or equivalent).
• A passion for cooking for young children (desirable).
