Backend Developer Intern (Hybrid) – Reston, VA

Our hybrid internship program offers a balanced work environment, enabling candidates to collaborate with experienced professionals both remotely and on‑site while contributing to impactful projects.
Assist in the development and maintenance of backend systems and server‑side logic.
Support the design, development, and testing of RESTful APIs.
Work with databases to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and optimization.
Collaborate closely with frontend developers to integrate user‑facing components.
Identify, debug, and resolve technical issues while improving system performance.
Write clean, scalable, and well‑documented code following best practices.
Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and development discussions.
Background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (formal degree is preferred but not mandatory).
Basic proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, PHP, ASP.NET and .NET Core.
Familiarity with relational SQL or NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Understanding of RESTful APIs and web service architecture.
Working knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Effective communication and technical documentation skills.
Hands‑on experience working on real‑world development projects.
Guidance and mentorship from experienced industry professionals.
Exposure to modern technologies, tools, and development practices.
