Specifically, this role supports our Content Engineering group and the Iceberg platform, serving as the technical visionary for the data pipelines that power our core AI products.

Our development managers are highly technical and hands on, often coding, designing and reviewing alongside their team. They coach and build their teams to be both strong technically and strong team members. They create a safe and productive environment for all Clions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with your triad to understand the challenges our business faces, identify impactful opportunities, and craft a roadmap for the team.
- Work with your team on designing the technical solutions.
- Give great feedback on code reviews, architecture documents, and other deliverables to help support team members in making strong technical decisions.
- Actively participate as a contributor to the project, through extensive code reviews or shipping code.
- Hold 1:1 meetings with direct reports to support their career growth and development goals.
- Participate in hiring to grow the engineering team at Clio.
- Review code contributed by team members or other Clio developers seeking your experience with a given technology or pattern.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in people leadership in software development, particularly with large-scale SaaS products.
- Deep technical expertise in data engineering, specifically building and scaling complex data transformation pipelines and agentic AI architectures.
- Strong background in hands‑on software development.
- Diverse base of knowledge that allows you to help your team solve complex technical problems.
- Ability to describe successful projects worked on and lessons learned from failed projects.
- Growth mindset for process improvement and new technologies, especially AI.
- Demonstrated ability to hire the best engineers in a fast‑paced market, and to coach, develop, and retain engineering talent.
- Enthusiastic about both personal technical work and contributing to the career growth of your team.
- Strong, well‑held opinions that foster the same attitude in others.
- Commitment to honest, actionable feedback for your team and encouraging reciprocity.

The expected salary range for this role is €111,400 to €167,200 EUR. Salary bands vary by region.
