The Team Milliman's Mountain Gulf Health Practice consists of actuarial professionals, healthcare consultants, IT, and administrative professionals. Through our manager program, all staff members are paired with a dedicated manager to help support and celebrate the growth of each staff member along their career path.
What You Will Do You will contribute to the development and application of AI‑driven solutions across our consulting work, with a focus on data analytics, coding, and scalable data pipelines. This role will involve working with large healthcare datasets, building and refining analytical models, and supporting the creation of clear, actionable visualizations. You will also have the opportunity to apply and expand your experience in AI and data science while gaining exposure to actuarial concepts within a consulting environment.
What We Are Looking For Professional Qualifications
Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., artificial intelligence, data science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or similar)
Experience or coursework in applied AI, machine learning, or optimization techniques
Interest in applying AI within healthcare or operational settings
Experience with statistical analysis languages—Python, R, SQL
Experience working with data visualization tools—Power BI, Tableau
Experience building or improving data process, workflows, or analytical tools
Experience working with data, including data manipulation, analysis, and interpretation
At least two or more Society of Actuaries exams passed
Solid understanding of basic actuarial concepts
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Personal Qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Intellectual curiosity and interest in emerging technologies, with a focus on AI
Problem‑solving mindset with an interest in building and improving processes
Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to explore new approaches
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications
Former Milliman interns may be preferred candidates
Master's in applied AI is preferred.

Location The Mountain Gulf Health Practice operates under one management group virtually across five locations — Denver, Houston, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, and San Francisco. This is a remote position. The expected application deadline for this job is April 20, 2026.
Compensation The overall range for this role is $40–$74 per hour. For candidates residing in:
Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York City, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia the range is $46–$74.
All other locations the range is $40–$65.
A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc. This is a full‑time, non‑exempt overtime eligible role; overtime eligible after 40 hours of work (for non‑exempt, hourly roles).
