About
A Data Reporting Specialist/Data Scientist will be responsible for creating and maintaining reports, data visualizations, and dashboards using HR data sources. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in data analytics and reporting, combined with strategic planning and development skills. They will have expertise in Tableau, SQL, Python, Excel and PowerPoint, and experience with HR data. They will be self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and able to work collaboratively to deliver high‑quality results. They should have strong attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to see the larger picture and understand how their work fits into the organization’s overall goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
Create and maintain a pipeline to ingest data from various HR data sources using SQL, Python, Excel and Tableau Prep.
Design and develop high‑quality reports and data visualizations for HR officers and agency senior leadership.
Develop and maintain pre‑made reports for HR officers.
Analyze and validate data to ensure accuracy and adherence to client business rules and best practices.
Communicate complex data insights to stakeholders through clear and concise reports and presentations.
Balance stakeholder requests with primary job functions and priorities.
Required Qualifications
Active/current TS/SCI with polygraph clearance is required.
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., computer science, data management, statistics).
At least three years of experience in a data analytics or reporting role, preferably in HR or a related field.
Technical skills:
At least three years of experience in Tableau (reporting, dashboards, and data visualizations).
Experience with SQL (data modeling, query optimization).
Experience with Python (data manipulation, analysis, pipeline development).
Experience with Excel (data analysis).
Experience with PowerPoint (presentation design and development).
Experience with data structures and the ability to quickly learn client data systems and structures.
Data analytics and reporting:
Expertise in data analytics reporting and ability to create and maintain reports based on client requests.
Experience with data visualization tools and techniques, including the ability to create interactive dashboards.
Data quality and validation:
Attention to detail and ability to self‑correct and analyze data to ensure accuracy and adherence to client business rules and best practices.
Communication and stakeholder management:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience communicating directly with stakeholders.
Ability to balance stakeholder requests with primary job functions and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Client systems and HR data:
Familiarity with client or government data systems.
Experience working with HR data and PII training.
Experience with HR data systems and software (e.g., Workday, PeopleSoft).
Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices.
Certification in data visualization or data science (e.g., Tableau Certified Data Analyst, Certified Data Scientist).
