Job Title - IT Software Engineer 4 –--- JAVA BACKEND/ AWS ---- Location: Peoria, IL or Chicago office - Hybrid; must go in office 2 days Job type: Contract - W2 only Experience: Min 8+ Years Required Note: Need Only USC/ GC/ H4 EAD candidates, who can work on our w2. Position’s Contributions to Work Group
This position reports to Software Engineering Manager, as do other staff jobs in application and technical systems and programming sections.
Responsibilities are within functional lines with individuals assisting in new program development and/or maintenance of existing mobile, WEB, Cloud, server, computing systems.
Education & Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field plus 8+ years experience, OR
Technical Skills Required
Software Development Experience
8+ years of software development experience or 6+ years with a master’s degree in computer science or related field.
8+ years experience designing and developing software applications in Java, or 6+ years with a master’s degree.
At least 3 years developing in AWS, including:
CloudFormation templates
Amazon Elasticsearch, S3
Strong understanding of IAM roles and policies
Software Design & Deployment
Designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining software at scale
Cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, GCP
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
Deploying software using CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
Agile development experience (ideally Scrum)
Additional Technical Expertise
Batch or stream processing systems (AWS SQS, SNS, Kinesis)
Designing well-defined RESTful APIs
Hands-on experience with API tools: Swagger, Postman, Assertible
Testing tools: Selenium, Cucumber integrated into CI/CD pipelines
Solid knowledge of computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms
Soft Skills Required
Ability to work under pressure and within tight timelines
Passion for technology and a strong team-oriented mindset
Resume shows mostly front-end experience with little or no back-end experience
Resume does not include current location of residence
Candidate does not currently reside locally and is not clearly willing to relocate at their own expense
