Job Summary Hope Media Group is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate reliable, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure that supports our growing digital platforms—including streaming media, donor systems, analytics, and emerging products like Project Gideon. In this role, you will partner closely with Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, Product, and Security to enable fast, safe, and sustainable delivery of software. You will bring strong systems thinking, automation expertise, and a service‑oriented mindset to help teams move quickly without sacrificing stability or stewardship. Hope Media Group—home to KSBJ, WayFM, Vida Unida, WAY LOUD, and NGEN Radio—offers a purpose‑driven environment where technical excellence directly supports ministry impact.
Platform Engineering & Reliability
Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Build and operate CI/CD pipelines that enable safe, repeatable, and fast deployments.
Ensure high availability, performance, observability, and disaster recovery for critical systems.
Lead reliability practices including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and post‑incident reviews.
Partner with engineering teams to improve system architecture, scalability, and operational maturity.
Security, Governance & Stewardship
Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure, pipelines, and environments.
Support compliance, access controls, secrets management, and least‑privilege policies.
Collaborate with leadership to balance cost optimization, performance, and long‑term sustainability.
Advocate for responsible technology stewardship aligned with nonprofit ministry values.
DevOps Culture & Enablement
Coach and enable development teams in DevOps best practices and operational ownership.
Promote automation, self‑service tooling, and shared responsibility for reliability.
Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and internal platform standards.
Faith Integration & Ministry Support
Serve stakeholders with humility, excellence, and a Christ‑centered mindset.
Participate in team prayer, ministry‑wide Bible studies, and on‑air fundraising events as needed.
Demonstrate flexibility to support broader ministry initiatives when required.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience
7+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
Experience supporting production systems at scale in cloud environments.
Proven experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines and cloud‑native platforms.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, etc.).
Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
Strong Linux systems and networking fundamentals.
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes preferred).
Observability expertise (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting).
Ability to diagnose complex system issues and lead incident response calmly and clearly.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating across cross‑functional teams.
Alignment with Hope Media Group’s mission and commitment to Christian ministry values.
Active involvement in a Bible‑believing local church.
Certifications (Preferred)
Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Kubernetes or DevOps‑related certifications.
Security or reliability‑focused certifications are a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None.
Travel
Occasionally.
Nights/Weekends/Holidays
Occasionally (on‑call or incident response as needed).
