Overview We are seeking a highly skilled
Senior QA Automation Engineer
with deep expertise in Selenium-based automation testing and a strong foundation in quality engineering principles.
This role requires a hands-on professional who can design scalable automation frameworks, ensure high-quality software delivery, and work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. The ideal candidate will be capable of independently owning testing efforts while contributing to enterprise-level IT and data initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Automation & Framework Development
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver
Build and enhance scalable automation frameworks (data-driven, hybrid, or BDD)
Implement parallel execution and optimize test performance
Testing & Quality Assurance
Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing
Develop comprehensive test scenarios and test cases based on business requirements
Ensure high test coverage and reliability of applications
Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman and RestAssured
Perform backend validation using SQL queries
Validate data integrity across systems and integrations
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives
Collaborate with developers, product owners, and architects to clarify requirements
Support continuous delivery through proactive QA involvement
Track, analyze, and manage defects through the full lifecycle
Perform root cause analysis and impact assessment
Ensure timely resolution and quality improvements
CI/CD & Reporting
Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
Provide test coverage analysis, quality metrics, and reporting
Support shift-left testing and continuous improvement practices
Required Qualifications
7+ years
of experience in Quality Assurance and software testing
Strong hands-on experience with
Selenium WebDriver
and automation tools
Proficiency in
Java (preferred), C#, or Python
for automation scripting
Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch
Strong understanding of functional testing principles and methodologies
Experience with tools such as
TestNG / JUnit / NUnit ,
Maven / Gradle , and
Git
Experience integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines
Experience with API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured, etc.)
Experience working in
Agile/Scrum environments
Strong understanding of test planning, strategy, and design techniques
Ability to independently own testing for features/modules
Ability to think from an end-user perspective
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with BDD frameworks such as
Cucumber or SpecFlow
Experience with
Selenium Grid
and parallel execution
Experience testing
cloud-based applications (AWS or Azure)
Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter)
Experience with containerization tools such as
Docker
Exposure to DevOps practices and shift-left testing
Experience testing microservices-based architectures
Basic knowledge of security testing principles
Hybrid role with
2 days onsite (Monday & Thursday)
and 3 days remote
Candidates must be
local to the Austin, TX area
(within 50 miles)
Occasional work outside standard hours may be required (pre-approved)
Potential for extension based on project needs
