System Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Identity & Access Management (IAM) / Systems Engineer to join a leading global financial services organisation onsite in Dublin. This role is focused on the design, development, and implementation of secure identity solutions within a complex enterprise environment.

You will act as a senior technical contributor, working across engineering and development teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing IAM systems. While this role does not include direct people management, you will influence technical direction, mentor team members, and contribute to key strategic initiatives.

• Contribute to requirements definition and story refinement within Agile teams
• Design and implement IAM and authentication solutions across enterprise systems
• Build and maintain deployment pipelines to support efficient and secure releases
• Integrate and manage systems across cloud and on-prem environments
• Work with large, complex datasets ensuring performance and reliability
• Support system transformation, automation, and process improvements
• Execute and analyse integration, regression, and performance testing
• Troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure successful system delivery
• Document solutions, processes, and deployment requirements
• Identify gaps in environment and security standards and drive improvements
• Provide technical leadership across projects and initiatives

• 7+ years’ experience in Information Security / IAM / Systems Engineering
• Strong background in enterprise-scale IAM solutions

• Expertise in SSO protocols: OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM, LDAP, FIDO
• Hands‑on experience with Ping Identity suite (PingFederate, Ping Access preferred)
• Experience designing and implementing Ping policies and custom solutions
• Strong experience with Identity federation xcfaprz
• Identity lifecycle & synchronization (SCIM, PingIDM)
• MFA, risk-based authentication, and privileged access management
• Experience with Cloud IAM solutions across: AWS
• GCP
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and large‑scale deployments
• Strong understanding of API design and RESTful services

• Strong programming experience in Java / J2EE
• Knowledge of web technologies: HTML, XML, XSLT, XPath
• Experience with: Linux & Windows environments
• Application servers (Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere)
• Networking, virtualization, and data centre technologies
