Network Engineer

Our client is on the lookout for a dedicated Optical Network Operations/Support Specialist to join their dynamic team for a 12-month temporary contract. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in optical technologies to step into a role where your expertise will shine!

As an Optical Network Operations/Support Specialist, you will be instrumental in the rollout and operations of large DWDM networks. You will leverage your skills in troubleshooting, analysis, and optical planning to ensure our client's network runs smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

• 
  
• Managing and supporting DWDM optical networks
  
• Utilizing optical planning and modelling tools for effective network implementation
  
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues with DWDM and optical systems
  
• Conducting network analysis to optimize performance and reliability
  

We are seeking candidates with experience in Optical Network Operations/Support. If you possess the following qualifications, we want to hear from you:

• 
  
• Extensive experience with DWDM networks and optical network technologies
  
• Proficiency in troubleshooting DWDM systems
  
• Strong foundation in network analysis fundamentals
  
• Familiarity with various protocols and technologies, including:
  

• 
  
• 802.2/3, 802.1d VLANs/STP, IPv4 & IPv6
  
• TCP (internals & flow control), BGP, OSPF
  
• HSRP/GLBP, PIMv2, IGMP, LDP
  
• TACACS, IPSEC & VPNs, netflow, DNS, HTTP
