The Demand Planner is responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts, analysing sales trends, and ensuring the business has the right stock in the right place at the right time. This role sits at the centre of supply chain, sales, and operations, acting as the key link between commercial teams and inventory planning. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with excellent communication and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and improve short‑, medium‑, and long‑term demand forecasts using statistical models, historical data, and market insights.
  • Analyse sales trends, seasonality, promotions, and new product introductions to refine forecast accuracy.
  • Monitor forecast performance and implement corrective actions to reduce bias and improve reliability.
  • Prepare monthly demand review packs for S&OP and lead discussions with commercial and supply teams.
  • Translate demand forecasts into inventory requirements to support optimal stock levels across the business.
  • Work closely with supply factories and local team to ensure timely replenishment and avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
  • Identify risks and opportunities in the supply chain and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support product lifecycle management, including launches, transitions, and end‑of‑life planning.
  • Communicate forecast changes, risks, and drivers clearly to stakeholders.
  • Participate in S&OP meetings and contribute to consensus planning.
  • Produce regular reporting on forecast accuracy, inventory levels, service levels, and demand trends.
  • Use analytical tools to identify root causes of forecast errors and propose improvements.
  • Maintain data integrity across planning systems and support continuous process optimisation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Experience with demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analysis.
  • Proficiency in Excel and planning/forecasting tools (e.g., AGR, SAP APO, Oracle, or similar).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
