Software Engineer (m/f/d) Software Tools & Automation AIRBUS

For our renowned customer Airbus Defence and Space you are acting as Software Engineer (m/f/d) for Software Tools and Automation in Manching.

• Design, implement and test high-performance C++ applications and libraries (C++17 or later)
• Develop and maintain cross-platform software solutions compatible with Unix and Windows environments
• Utilise CMake to manage build systems and streamline development workflows
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and integrate components
• Contribute to the development of simulation tools and frameworks where applicable
• Implement and integrate gRPC-based communication between distributed services
• Participate in system architecture discussions and apply sound software design principles
• Stay current with emerging technologies, including AI/ML integration and model-based control patterns (MCP)
• Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code and conduct peer code reviews

• Completed studies in Software Engineering, Computer Science or comparable
• Professional experience in Simulation Development (e.g. physics engines, real-time systems, numerical modeling) as well as in developing software in Unix / Linux and Windows environments
• Experience in multi-threading, networking, low-latency system design and with gRPC and protocol buffers for service-to-service communication
• Experience in simulation or AI is a plus
• Solid understanding of systems architecture and software design principles (e.g. modularity, scalability, performance optimisation)
• Very good skills in C++ (C++17 or newer) and CMake
• Skills in version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines and debugging tools
• Fluent English skills spoken and written
• German skills are desirable
