*\*\*THIS POSITION REQUIRES IN-HOME WORK. *
*DSP Job Summary: *DHI is *l*ooking for DSPs to work in a direct care role providing in-the-moment support to help clients achieve their goals and maintain safety. The clients we support has intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and experience mental health or behavioral symptoms that require a staff that are comfortable responding to and redirecting physical aggression, verbal aggression, and property destruction. TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED!
*Duties & Responsibilities:*
* The ideal DSP will be comfortable helping a teenager manage their behaviors and regulate their emotions.
* DSPs are responsible for helping the teen with their ADLs and IADLs
* The teenager also requires a staff member who is engaged and willing to participate in activities of the their choice and is committed to helping them achieve their goals while enjoying their lives.
* *Requirements:*
* 1 year of Direct Support Experience, *required*
* Education and/or experience with children with IDD and interfering behaviors
* *Must have* a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
* 21 years of age or older
* Ability to pass a background check
