At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we run one of the largest networks in the world supporting the AWS Cloud globally. We manage scale by driving revolutionary changes to how networks are conceived, designed, built and operated. We place services and algorithms to control and manage all layers of the Amazon network, from top of the rack switches (TORs) to internet and private backbone facing routers. The software ecosystem must be intelligent, scalable and fault tolerant. Our vision is to have self-managed networks and our Network Lifecycle Management (NLM) organization builds key services to enable this vision.
We are establishing a team of engineers to build foundational network services that form a core part of our Software Defined Networking (SDN) ecosystem. The team will design and own a closed-loop system for the reservation of network entities associated with procurement activities. This service closes the gap between network capacity planning and our network automation systems and is a crucial step toward a truly self-managed and adaptive network.
We are looking for smart, talented software engineers who want hands-on experience with automated hyperscale data center networks, cloud infrastructure, large-scale software deployments, algorithms, distributed systems and service-oriented architectures (SOA). This is an opportunity for both experienced and new Software Development Engineers to solve hard problems related to config generation, modeling and storage at extreme scale. No prior Networking experience is required; we welcome candidates with strong software services backgrounds to drive development of highly reliable, scalable services.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continual access to AWS innovation. We tackle challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and seek talented people to help.
As part of the team, you will join a diverse group of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing near-infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost. You’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
Key responsibilities
Design and develop highly scalable and reliable services that manage network configuration lifecycle.
Collaborate with peers, customers and partner engineering teams to develop state-of-the-art solutions, incorporating new technologies, algorithms and innovations.
Build technical roadmap to evolve our software services space.
Contribute to a strong learning culture and growth while delivering high-impact work.
About The Team
Diverse experiences are valued at AWS. If you do not meet all listed qualifications, we encourage you to apply. If your career is just starting, has not followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don’t let it stop you from applying.
