We're currently looking for an
Advisory Technical Lead
on a full time, permanent basis. This position sits within the Relationships team in Ireland.
This role will also involve a degree of public affairs responsibilities within the Ireland team.
The Job
Provide expert technical and strategic advice to members on financial reporting, auditing, ethics, taxation, and company law, shaping professional practice standards
Lead the delivery of tailored technical support to key stakeholders, with a strategic focus on SMEs, SMPs, and ACCA employers and members, driving sector-wide impact
Develop and maintain authoritative technical guidance, thought leadership, and insights, positioning ACCA as a trusted voice on regulatory, accounting, and tax matters
Shape ACCA's technical and policy positions, ensuring local perspectives inform global policy while maintaining consistent, coherent messaging
Represent ACCA in high-level forums, delivering presentations, facilitating roundtable discussions, and leading the development of submissions, consultation responses, and policy papers
Lead and coordinate the ACCA Technical Committee's, including submissions to government and Revenue, enhancing advocacy outcomes for members
Build and sustain strategic relationships with regulators, government agencies, and industry bodies, positioning ACCA as a key influencer in Ireland's regulatory and policy landscape
Monitor and anticipate regulatory, accounting, and tax issues, shaping ACCA's advocacy and public affairs strategy to maintain proactive leadership
Provide strategic technical guidance to Practice Monitoring and Governance teams, ensuring alignment with ACCA policy objectives and professional standards
Drive the creation and delivery of strategic thought leadership, member communications, and publications, reinforcing ACCA's authoritative voice in the profession.
The Person
We're looking for someone who:
Is a member of a professional accounting body: ACCA, CAI or CIMA
Has demonstrable expert experience in technical accounting, auditing, ethics and business law and a working knowledge of tax
Is competent in writing for publication and for ACCA Government submissions and for a variety of stakeholders
Has confidence to interact with senior members and external stakeholders at CEO, Ministerial, and HOD level of stakeholders
Understands major business and political issues and be in a position to communicate an ACCA position on these
Is able to demonstrate a customer-focussed approach to all aspects of work
Understands the education and skills landscape
Understands ACCA's qualification, products and services.
