Generate Sales Growth for the Company's portfolio of Control Techniques and KB Electronics brands of variable frequency drives, servo systems, motors, and services to meet booking goals for accounts served directly and through distribution by this position. Role is focused on New Business development with heavy emphasis on identifying, engaging, and winning new customers – the ‘hunters’ of the Company. Job Description
Conduct daily sales appointments to existing and prospective customers to promote Nidec Drives solutions, with a focus on in-person meetings. Present Nidec Drives product features and benefits to win against competitors; qualify opportunities to prioritize time and resources. Collaborate with field applications engineers for pre‑sales technical qualification. Move opportunities through the sales cycle, focusing on high‑probability closures. Develop and maintain a sales plan for assigned territory/accounts that meets or exceeds the order plan and grows market share; key activity is new business development of target accounts. Partner with the regional director for channel, machine builders, HVAC/Flow strategies. Leverage prospecting tools, identify target accounts for direct solicitation and marketing campaigns; conduct joint‑prospecting sessions with channel partners. Maintain proficiency in Salesforce, creating and maintaining up‑to‑date opportunity pipelines to support close rate and quarterly/annual targets. Track OEM and End‑User accounts in CRM and maintain relationships through OEM/EU or partner engagement. Track KPIs: Project Opportunities to Close, New Business Development Customers, New Customers in Fiscal Year, Must‑Win Large Opportunities, Customer Visitation and Sales Calls, etc.; provide weekly reports to the Regional Sales Director. Complete commercial and technical training on products across the portfolio; demonstrate technical aptitude to answer sizing, selection, operation, and best‑practice questions. Demonstrate Company demo equipment and train customers on application, features and competitive selling points. Aggressively follow up on all leads, enter results in CRM, maintain professional vehicle presence if provided. Support sales training on how to sell Nidec Drives’ portfolio items and provide technical competency in industrial, HVAC, pumping, and general automation markets. Generate and present written quotations and proposals following pricing and sales policies. Assist with sponsored trade shows and maintain good standing in professional organizations. Customer and Travel Requirements
Direct customer interaction. Approximately 33% overnight travel. Required Qualifications and Experience
Four‑year technical or engineering degree (e.g., BSEE, BSE, BSME) OR 5 additional years of experience selling drives or motion control. Seven years of experience in the automation field. Previous experience working with distribution partners to grow sales. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to work independently and with a team. Strong prospecting skills and self‑starter attitude. Demonstrated order growth performance.
