Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined Build Coordinator to support prototype vehicle builds in a fast-paced automotive environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical experience who thrives in a highly collaborative, detail-driven setting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Adjust build timing based on part availability and hoist scheduling
  • Review PDB Master BOMs from EBOM and ensure accuracy for builds
  • Prioritize and coordinate builds through designated garage areas
  • Create and manage work orders for ground-up builds and engineering updates
  • Develop and maintain build issue logs; communicate daily updates to engineering teams
  • Generate miscellaneous parts pull requests based on engineering needs
  • Lead weekly build issue and program planning meetings
  • Coordinate material movement by creating shippers, gate passes, and move requests
  • Recommend and implement best practices for issue resolution and build efficiency


Required Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Prior mechanic experience or 3 years of hands-on automotive repair experience beyond basic maintenance
  • Solid understanding of vehicle systems (Brakes, suspension, cradles, etc.)


Additional Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse personalities, including skilled trades and engineers
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple prototype builds simultaneously
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools
  • Diagnostic experience is a plus
  • Willingness to learn Bill of Materials (BOM) processes


Education

  • High School Diploma required
  • Mechanic certifications are a plus
