Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore. Golden Queen employees live in several surrounding communities such as Boron, California City, Lancaster, Mojave, Palmdale, Ridgecrest, Rosamond, Tehachapi, and Victorville. Mojave is known as the city of "Golden Crossroads" because it is located at the nexus of the California Highways 14 and 58. The Mobile Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the maintenance of the mining equipment. This is a fleet of Komatsu equipment which includes a hydraulic shovel, production drills, loaders, excavators, haulage - trucks, dozers, water trucks, and graders and a range of smaller support equipment typical of an operating mine. The Mobile Maintenance Supervisor will report to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent. What You Do
Work closely with the Mine - Maintenance Superintendent to develop and implement an effective maintenance program for the Mobile Equipment Fleet; Monitor and help implement an effective program of mobile equipment, tire maintenance, and record-keeping; Monitor and maintain both short-term and long-term maintenance schedules starting with daily checks and extending to multi-year schedules including major overhauls; Work closely with the Coordinator Purchasing to procure maintenance supplies with a focus on just-in-time delivery where feasible; Monitor and maintain all reporting procedures and prepare reports for all facets of maintenance; Work closely with personnel actually doing the maintenance, to ensure proper maintenance is being performed on the mobile equipment fleet; To set and adjust maintenance priorities for the mechanics, welders and support personnel and to support said personnel with proper guidance and training when needed; Maintain a work environment that attracts workers with the right skills for a demanding maintenance scenario; Ensure a clean and safe working environment for all personnel, and full compliance with all directives and regulations on safety, health and the environment; Review equipment pre-shift operation forms, workaround's, and safety checks daily, and Perform employee evaluations, be a leader, coach, mentor to employees, set a career path, as well as disciplinary actions when necessary. Other duties as assigned. What You Bring
A minimum of 5 years of experience in an open pit mining environment with a focus on all facets of mobile equipment maintenance; The perfect candidate will have had hands-on experience as a heavy equipment mechanic of a large mobile equipment fleet; Have had held a supervisory position running a maintenance facility similar in complexity to equipment and facilities that are associated with the mine; Willing and able to do shift work if needed; Must have demonstrated ability to work with a mixed team of heavy duty mechanics, welders, tire man, and support personnel, including, coaching, mentoring, and disciplinary actions; Able and willing to lead by example and help guide the mechanics through proper troubleshooting procedures; Demonstrated ability to implement planned maintenance programs for mobile mining equipment; Ability to present information in a manner that is clear and understandable and proficient in all verbal and written skills; Maintain equipment availability numbers and reporting; Needs to have a working knowledge of computers and Microsoft software such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Manager Plus experience is preferred; Driver's license required High school diploma or GED What We Offer
