About

As a CT Technologist with Presbyterian Healthcare Services in the Healthcare & Medical Services department, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging for patients across our non-profit healthcare system in Albuquerque, NM. Working within a culture grounded in patient-care, respect, integrity, accountability, and safety, you will perform computed tomography (CT) examinations according to physician orders and established protocols, ensuring accurate, timely, and compassionate care. You will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients for CT procedures, selecting appropriate technical factors, operating CT scanners and related imaging equipment, and ensuring optimal image quality while minimizing radiation exposure in accordance with ALARA principles. Your role includes verifying patient identification, reviewing medical histories and clinical indications, screening for contraindications to contrast, and explaining procedures to help reduce anxiety and improve patient comfort. You will start IV lines and administer contrast material under established guidelines, monitoring patients for reactions and responding appropriately to any urgent situations. In close collaboration with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team, you will assist in advanced and emergency CT studies, including trauma, stroke, and critical-care imaging, prioritizing workflow based on clinical urgency. You will accurately document procedures, maintain patient records in the electronic medical record and PACS, and follow departmental protocols for image labeling, post-processing, and exam completion. The role requires strict adherence to infection prevention, radiation safety, and regulatory standards, as well as the proper cleaning, stocking, and basic troubleshooting of CT equipment and work areas. You will contribute to quality improvement initiatives, participate in continuing education and competency assessments, and support training of new staff or students as needed. Employees at Presbyterian Healthcare can expect a collaborative work environment, opportunities for professional growth in advanced imaging techniques, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on community health outcomes through reliable, high-quality CT imaging services in a primarily field/on-site clinical setting.
