About

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a CT Tech, PRN to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department within our non-profit, patient-centered healthcare system. In this role, you will perform high-quality CT imaging procedures on a per diem basis to support diagnostic and interventional care for patients across a variety of clinical settings. Working closely with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team, you will obtain accurate patient histories, verify orders, and position patients to ensure precise imaging while prioritizing safety, comfort, and dignity. The CT Tech operates and troubleshoots CT scanners and related equipment, selects appropriate imaging protocols, and adjusts technical factors to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure in accordance with ALARA principles and departmental policies. This position requires strict adherence to infection prevention standards, patient identification and consent procedures, and regulatory and accreditation guidelines. The CT Tech, PRN will monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, respond to changes in condition, and escalate concerns appropriately. Responsibilities include preparing and administering contrast media under supervision and in accordance with policy, recognizing and addressing potential contrast reactions, and maintaining accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record and imaging systems. The CT Tech ensures rooms and equipment are clean, stocked, and ready, participates in quality control and performance improvement activities, and assists with training and mentoring of new staff or students as needed.
