The Role
The Networks Engineer (L2) supports the delivery of Diacom’s networking projects, solutions, and services across new and existing customer environments. The role is responsible for the configuration, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure, while ensuring continuity of service, customer satisfaction, and ongoing revenue for the networks vertical of the business. The position also contributes to the development of new service lines, supports the helpdesk with escalations, and maintains high-quality documentation and technical standards.
What You'll Do
Lead the design and deployment of enterprise-grade network solutions for new and existing customer environments.
Provide expert guidance on network strategy, capacity planning, segmentation, scalability, and security design.
Oversee the maintenance, performance, and reliability of customer network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and supporting systems.
Ensure best-practice configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management of:
Switching platforms (HPE Aruba, Fortinet)
Wireless solutions (HPE Aruba, Fortinet)
NAC/AAA platforms (Aruba ClearPass)
Plan, coordinate, and execute scheduled firmware upgrades, maintenance windows, and infrastructure refresh activities.
Act as the senior escalation point for complex and high-impact network incidents from the Diacom Helpdesk and TAC teams.
Lead root-cause analysis (RCA), remediation planning, and implementation of long-term resolution strategies.
Produce detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders covering network health, performance trends, and incident outcomes.
Collaborate with VoIP, Managed Services, and Cybersecurity teams on cross-functional projects and integrated solutions.
Provide technical input and subject-matter expertise to sales and account management teams, including solution design and pre-sales activities.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing to junior network engineers.
Contribute to internal technical training, standards development, and process improvement initiatives.
Participate in the after-hours support roster for critical infrastructure and customer-impacting events.
Provide availability for overtime during major project deployments or urgent customer requirements as required.
What We're Looking For
Exposure to/or experience with enterprise networking technologies (Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto).
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across wired and wireless networks.
Understanding of NAC principles and AAA frameworks.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools.
Strong communication and customer service orientation. xcfaprz

Nice to Have
Basic understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and common security controls
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow established procedures
