The Role
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Engineering Manager will lead a team of multi‑skilled engineers, while also managing key external contractor relationships.
You will be responsible for ensuring the engineering and maintenance function operates to the highest standards, maximising the performance, reliability, and efficiency of plant, machinery, and facilities.
Key responsibilities include:
Driving innovation, continuous improvement, and proactive change within the engineering function
Leading, mentoring, and developing the engineering team to support future growth
Developing and implementing a robust preventative maintenance programme
Collaborating closely with Production, Product Development, and Quality teams
Delivering on all engineering KPIs including budget management, equipment optimisation, and compliance
Ensuring adherence to health & safety, quality, hygiene, and regulatory standards
The Person
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Engineering or Maintenance leadership role within food, beverage, or a fast‑paced best‑practice manufacturing environment
Strong people management experience with the ability to lead and develop high‑performing xcfaprz teams
Excellent technical knowledge of plant, machinery, maintenance systems, and asset care
Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and automation
Results‑driven with a hands‑on, problem‑solving approach
Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills
Resilient, proactive, and capable of delivering against ambitious objectives
This is a key leadership role requiring both a strategic mindset and hands‑on approach, ensuring this forward‑thinking business is equipped to scale, automate, and modernise in line with its ambitious growth plans.
