What You'll Do:
Own the company's cloud infrastructure strategy and operational oversight, including Azure Virtual Machines, networking, storage, identity, PaaS databases, Databricks workspaces, and related services.
Act as the primary technical owner and escalation point for all cloud infrastructure, ensuring services are reliable, secure, and aligned with business needs.
Provide day-to-day governance and oversight of managed service providers (MSPs) and other third-party vendors responsible for cloud operations and security.
Define and enforce standards, policies, and expectations for vendor-managed cloud environments, including architecture, security, monitoring, and change management.
Review, approve, and monitor vendor-led changes, incident response activities, and remediation plans to ensure quality and compliance.
Manage vendor performance through service reviews, SLAs, KPIs, and regular operational reporting, driving accountability and continuous improvement.
Coordinate and oversee internal audits and third-party security audits, serving as the technical point of contact and ensuring timely remediation of findings.
Partner with Security, Compliance, and Risk teams to ensure cloud controls meet regulatory and contractual requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
Maintain accurate documentation for cloud architecture, configurations, operational procedures, and vendor responsibilities.
Oversee cloud cost management, including budgets, forecasts, capacity planning, and cost optimization initiatives in coordination with vendors.
Manage or oversee the Help Desk and escalation process for cloud-related incidents, ensuring appropriate routing between internal teams and external providers.
Evaluate new cloud services, tools, or vendors and provide technical recommendations to leadership.
Support business growth initiatives by ensuring cloud platforms are scalable, resilient, and fit for purpose.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree
in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or
equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of experience
in IT infrastructure, cloud operations, or systems administration with at least
3 years in cloud-focused roles.
Demonstrated experience acting as the
technical owner or primary point of accountability
for cloud infrastructure platforms.
Proven experience
overseeing managed service providers (MSPs)
or third-party vendors, including governance, change approval, incident escalation, and performance management.
Strong hands-on knowledge of
Azure infrastructure and services , including compute, networking, identity, storage, security controls, and selected PaaS offerings.
Experience supporting
security, compliance, or audit activities , including participation in audits such as
ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar frameworks.
Ability to work
independently
in a small internal team environment while coordinating effectively with vendors and business stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into
clear business and risk-based explanations.
Relevant certifications are preferred:
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
CISA: Certified Information Security Auditor
Experience contributing to or supporting an Information Security Management System (ISMS) or formal IT governance program is preferred.
Familiarity with cloud cost management and optimization (FinOps concepts) is a plus.
