Lynden Incorporated is seeking a Senior Database Developer to join our SeaTac-based team. In this role, you’ll help design, optimize, and maintain enterprise-grade databases that support critical applications, and you’ll bring technical expertise, strong collaboration skills, and a mindset focused on continuous improvement to advance modernization, cloud adoption, automation, and data governance across the organization. This position is not safety sensitive.

What You Will Be Doing:
Design and optimize SQL and NoSQL databases for scalability and performance.
Design relational and non-relational models aligned to business needs.
Create, version, and manage DDL scripts for schema changes and deployments.
Performance Engineering
Partner with developers to optimize queries, indexes, and execution plans.
Design transaction strategies that ensure integrity and consistency across systems.
Analyze workloads to find tuning and refactoring opportunities.
Automation, DevOps & CI/CD
Build and maintain GitHub Actions workflows for deployments and schema migrations.
Integrate database changes into CI/CD with safe rollout and rollback strategies.
Improve automation standards across the Applications Team and DevOps workflows.
Data Cataloging & Metadata Management
Build and maintain an enterprise data catalog (metadata, lineage, and classifications).
Ensure data assets are well‑described, standardized, and reusable across teams.
Compliance & Governance
Tag and classify data assets for compliance (PII, GDPR, FCI, CUI, HCI).
Align database practices with governance, privacy, and security policies.
Collaborate with architects, developers, BI, security, and business stakeholders.
Advise on database best practices for modernization, cloud adoption, and AI workloads.
Participate in design reviews, architecture discussions, and system planning.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
Document models, standards, procedures, transactions, and governance policies.
Maintain versioning, change history, and deployment docs in source control.
Help define and improve database development standards across the Applications Team.

What We Need from You (required)
Bachelor’s degree (technology emphasis).
7+ years of experience in database development, engineering, or data architecture.
Proven database engineering experience (data modeling, performance tuning, SQL/DDL scripting).
Preferred: GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools.
Familiarity with data catalogs and metadata management.
Strong understanding of data privacy and compliance frameworks.
Experience tuning SQL queries and designing transactional workflows.
Strong communication, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
Your Schedule
Flexible start times with established core hours to maximize team overlap and collaboration.
Hybrid schedule after completion of training: 2 days onsite and 3 days remote per week.
Business needs may occasionally require additional onsite work, including on normally remote days.
Participate in the 24x7 on‑call rotation (about once per year).
