About

Facility in Syracuse, NY seeking Pathology locums coverage Rates: $270/hr Opportunity Highlights
  • Coverage Period: 3 to 6 months (Ongoing need due to shortage).
  • Schedule: Full-time, hospital-based hours. No call schedule required.
  • Lab Environment: CLIA and NYS certified.
  • Team Dynamics: Collaborative group including 4 Physicians, 5 Histotechnologists, 1 Pathology Assistant, and 2 Cytotechnologists.
  • EMR/LTS: EPIC / Beaker.
  • Credentialing: Prompt 40- to 45-day timeframe.
Clinical Responsibilities As a key member of the pathology team, you will handle a diverse case load with modern diagnostic equipment, including the ThinPrep integrated imager (Hologic) and Avantik QS cryostats. Required Anatomic Pathology Procedures:
  • Surgical Pathology
  • Cytology (ThinPrep method)
  • Frozen Section Analysis (Cryostat cutting required)
  • Grossing of specimens
Volume Snapshot:
  • Surgical Specimens: 13,000 per year
  • Cytology Specimens: 3,000 per year
Provider Requirements
  • Board Status: AP Board Certified (Required).
  • Licensure: Active New York State (NYS) license (Required).
  • Certifications: Cytology Proficiency Exam required for GYN Cytology.
  • Documentation: A Self-Query NPDB report must be pulled within the same month as the submission (Required).
