About

The primary role of the Senior Material Planner is to ensure the availability of raw material components to meet the production schedule in Drug Substance, Drug Product and Finish Goods Packaging Operations. Ensure raw material components are planned, purchased and released within the guidelines established in the ERP SAP system. The Senior Material Planner will play a key role in the ensuring that the functional goals are met. This will require supporting the development and implementation of systems, processes and people to ensure optimal raw material coverage in line with the Master Production Schedule as well as product launch activities.

Key Responsibilities
Ensure accuracy of SAP Master Data for material components and maintain alignment between supplier order books and SAP.
Lead Material Requirements Planning (MRP) activities, including issuing purchase orders, managing invoices, and monitoring material release status.
Maintain end-to-end inventory management (pricing, PPV, reserves, shelf-life, FIFO/FEFO, safety stock, lead times).
Lead weekly material readiness and cross-functional planning forums, ensuring alignment across S&OE, production, warehouse, and quality teams.
Generate and publish recurring heatmaps, readiness reports, supplier forecasts, and KPI dashboards (e.g., OTIF).
Execute short-term exception management (STEM) and material planning scenarios to protect the detailed schedule (ATS/ATP).
Serve as the functional representative at Global Category Forums, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), Supply Chain Reviews (SCR), and supplier strategy discussions.
Communicate delivery schedules, risks, and mitigations to internal partners and external suppliers.
Support Change Requests, CAPA, Deviations, and Supplier Change Notifications within the QMS.
Participate in end-of-campaign reviews to optimize future planning cycles.
Drive Operational Excellence initiatives using Lean and Right-First-Time methodologies. xcfaprz
Act as Functional Lead for Continuous Improvement projects, including SOP development, cost savings, dual sourcing, and operational readiness programs.
Requirements
A minimum of 7 years relevant Supply Chain Management experience
Experience in Planning/Purchasing in a pharmaceutical environment with strong technical/systems background is desirable
Experience of SAP is essential
Experience working in a GMP environment for a minimum of 3 years
