This role will need you to lead the team in achieving their required metrics for the area, with a key focus on team member safety and ensuring that appropriate systems are used including; delivery, put away, stock management, picking & despatching, providing daily support and coaching to all team members."
Supply Chain Strategy
- Fully support the activities that are defined within the master schedule for the area, maintaining a key focus on the metrics of the area and any deadlines along with the impact of change on any team members.
- Work cross functionally and build relationships to maximise performance.
- Ensure that each team member understands their role in delivering our business goals.
- Build strong relationships with each team member.
- Minimise absenteeism and organise unplanned cover when required taking the necessary steps to minimise cost.
- Train the team on OPEX tools systems and standards and track team member capability using versatility matrices.
- Involve the team in priority problem solving activities and promote a culture of learning and development.
- Communicate regularly and ensure goals and targets are clear through team forums
- Ensure team members are working to their strengths.
- Use problem solving to remove obstacles which may prevent team members from completing their roles effectively.
- Reward both successes and ideal behaviours. Address any performance issues promptly and discretely.
- Collect and analyse data to underpin decisions and the allocation of resource within the production stream.
- Improve key metrics for the logistics area and drive 3C problem solving activity.
- Design reliability into processes.
- Standardise through the use of 5S, Work Element Sheets, Standard Operating Procedures and other standards required to run the area effectively. Conduct layered confirmation to confirm standard work.
- Use visual management to communicate to the team performance issues and what you are doing about correcting them.
- Deliver value; hourly, daily, and weekly maintaining picking accuracy & stock control - trigger the escalation process for any deviation in safety, material flow or customer impacts (internal & external)
- Ensure that start-ups are documented, and the appropriate checks have been made and escalated as appropriate
- Ensure that shift handovers documented and communicated effectively.
- Optimise labour minimise waste and distribution costs while maximising stock management, and attainment of picking targets
Essential / Desirable
- Proficient written, numerical, and verbal skills.
- Fluency of English language (Oral and Written).
- Experience in a Supply Chain operation.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting.
