Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain the integrity and efficiency of ETL feeds for new and existing data sources. Structure data in a way that is easy to understand, query, and display. Build appropriate linkages, relationships, and calculations between data fields within the EDW. Serve as a subject matter expert on data sources, structure, and definitions. Collaborate with end users to field data requests to integrate data into the EDW and build dashboards to support their needs. Troubleshoot issues related to EDW, dashboards, and reports. Partner with internal and external teams to enhance the data warehouse through hardware and software upgrades and expansions. Provides information necessary to support strategy and decision making
Collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Collaborate with Analysts to develop tools for analyses of strategic planning and market research data to provide insight for business development and growth opportunities. Develop, design, and automate regular reports accurately and on a timely basis. Design and build ad-hoc reports that provide actionable and meaningful information. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets and connect those trends to actionable insights and business needs. Assists the Business Intelligence Team in planning for the evolution of Beacon's data management initiative
Provide input into strategic direction and decisions for the Business Intelligence Department; research new data management techniques or best practices. Document data integration processes and data flows. Document metadata regarding data source, field type, definition, etc. for each field and table created. Promote and support a culture of data-driven decision making within Beacon Health System, including innovative data visualization and data science methodologies. Identify potential process improvement opportunities and implement solutions to improve department and data process efficiency. Complete other duties as assigned. Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Data Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems, Informatics, or a related field. Experience in application support, data management, programming, or database management, preferably in a healthcare setting, is preferred. Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrates flexibility, determination, and perseverance through challenging or ambiguous work. Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work within the Business Intelligence Team, organization, and third-party technical contacts. Ability to troubleshoot issues and propose solutions. Understanding of relational database structures and concepts. Ability to research, design, and implement data platform enhancements. Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail, urgency, and accuracy. Basic knowledge of healthcare business needs, including healthcare revenue cycle and healthcare delivery systems. Strong organization and time-management skills. Preferred experience: ETL and databases, Excel VBA, SQL, Cerner CCL, or other programming/analytical software. Preferred knowledge of designing and developing data models using database technologies (e.g., Dimensional Insight\'s Diver, SQL Server, Oracle). Experience with financial and patient medical record systems commonly found in healthcare settings (Cerner is a plus). Working Conditions
Hybrid office environment with remote flexibility. Occasional requirement to work outside normal business hours as needed by the department. Physical Demands
