About Prepared As of October 1, 2025, Prepared has joined forces with Axon to launch AI‑powered emergency communications, bridging the gap between the first call and field resolution. Since 2021, Prepared has used cutting‑edge AI to streamline millions of emergency calls across 49 states – supporting over 90 million people and transforming crisis response.
Position Overview We are seeking passionate and experienced frontend engineers with a strong focus on resiliency, real‑time responsiveness, and seamless integration across web and desktop platforms. This hybrid role (four days per week in Manhattan) offers high autonomy and ownership within a growing engineering team of ~40 members. You’ll drive the development of scalable, reusable, high‑performance user interfaces, collaborate with design and engineering teams, and shape Prepared’s engineering culture.
What You’ll Do
Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers to translate complex user requirements into performant, intuitive features.
Drive the adoption of best practices in front‑end development to meet high‑resiliency needs for complex, mission‑critical systems.
Heavily influence the architectural design and implementation of scalable and reusable front‑end systems using React.
Analyze and address architectural challenges such as state management, rendering performance, and scalability of complex UIs.
Contribute to and advocate for front‑end testing strategies, ensuring high‑quality code through unit and integration tests.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering growth and knowledge sharing across the team.
What Makes You a Great Fit
5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years focused on designing and building user‑facing features.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in React and TypeScript.
Experience working with GraphQL APIs.
Deep understanding of front‑end architecture, including state management (e.g., Redux, Context API).
Desire to work in a fast‑paced startup environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience collaborating closely with product and design teams.
Enthusiasm for AI‑augmented software development workflows.

The Pay Axon’s base pay for this role ranges from USD 141,000 to USD 216,600, varying by level, function, training, skills, experience, geographic market, and business needs.
