What You Will Be Doing
As a Senior Civil Engineer on the Consulting Highways team you will lead junior engineers in designing and delivering a variety of highway and public transport projects, including cycleways, greenways, junction improvements, highway drainage/SUDs, bus priority measures, pavement schemes, maintenance programmes and major road or bridge work. In Dublin you’ll work on local projects and support initiatives across Ireland and the UK remotely.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Lead on the delivery of scheme design, supporting the Design Team Leader in various design duties such as surveys/inspections, feasibility and other technical reports, planning, programming and cost estimation, design production and development of design schedules.
Review and amend design drawings.
Produce Specifications.
Support the development of Graduate Engineers and Technicians.
Work to programme to deliver specified designs on time.
Drive effective health and safety practices within your team.
Liaise with the client and community partners to ensure solutions are suitable for buildability and maintainability.
Prepare technical reports (e.g., feasibility/options reports, assessment reports and other technical reports).
We Want To Hear From You If You Have
Developed experience and expertise within the highways/civil engineering field, typically gained in an engineer role or equivalent.
Comprehensive knowledge of design processes and procedures relevant to civil engineering.
Capability to produce or oversee technically sound highways engineering solutions that comply with all relevant technical standards and client requirements.
Experience in undertaking project‑related tasks associated with health, safety and welfare, such as Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
Successful completion of the initial professional development leading to either Incorporated or Chartered status, or an equivalent professional licence and the level defined by your education.
A demonstrable commitment to the plan of action and key dates leading to successful completion of either the professional review or end‑point assessment and the award of Incorporated or Chartered status or an equivalent licence.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or demonstrable equivalent further learning.
Registered as an IEng or CEng is desirable, having gained the status through the professional institution to which you are aligned.
