Senior Associate Position The Senior Associate is a key execution leader within Palm Tree’s Data & Analytics practice. Senior Associates manage client workstreams, build analytics solutions, and help organizations translate complex data into actionable insights.
This role blends hands‑on technical development with client‑facing collaboration. Senior Associates work directly with business stakeholders to design data models, build reporting infrastructure, and implement analytics frameworks that support operational decision‑making.

Core Responsibilities Data Modeling & Engineering
Write production SQL to model, transform, and validate data across multiple source systems including ERP, CRM, and operational databases
Build and maintain scalable data models that support reporting and analytics use cases
Optimize query performance across complex multi‑table schemas
Document data pipelines, transformation logic, and business rules
Business Intelligence & Reporting
Develop and maintain Power BI semantic models, reports, and dashboards
Design KPI reporting frameworks that provide leadership teams with clear operational insights
Implement row‑level security and governance controls within BI environments
Support deployment and maintenance of reporting pipelines
Data Strategy & Client Engagement
Translate business questions into data requirements and analytical frameworks
Partner with client stakeholders to define metrics, reporting needs, and data structures
Support data governance, quality assurance, and analytics best practices
Lead meetings and working sessions with business and technical stakeholders
Analytics Delivery & Workstream Ownership
Independently manage analytics workstreams across client engagements
Scope projects, estimate level of effort, and manage delivery timelines
Synthesize insights from structured and unstructured data sources
Deliver actionable recommendations that support operational and financial decision‑making
Team Development & Practice Growth
Mentor and support junior team members across analytics engagements
Contribute to internal knowledge development and data architecture standards
Support development of analytics methodologies and delivery frameworks within the practice
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering roles
Strong SQL proficiency, including CTEs, window functions, subqueries, and complex joins
Hands‑on experience building Power BI models, DAX measures, and dashboards
Experience translating business requirements into analytical frameworks and reporting solutions
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple workstreams in fast‑paced consulting or advisory environments
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and a willingness to solve complex data problems in entrepreneurial environments.
Preferred Experience
Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Azure or Snowflake
Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools including Azure Data Factory or dbt
Experience using Python for data transformation or automation
Exposure to private equity or portfolio company environments
Familiarity with ERP systems such as AS/400, NetSuite, or similar
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range of $125,000–$150,000, with performance‑based bonus opportunities.
