The Senior Network Contracting Manager is responsible for contracting and providing relationship management activities within OptumRx in support of an assigned group of pharmacy providers. This role will develop and maintain positive relationships with pharmacy partners that yield results and drive client satisfaction and will play an active role by managing contractual obligations and compliance, contract negotiations, operational needs and relationship need.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist with contractual negotiations including financial modeling where appropriate
  • Develop and execute on provider strategy development
  • Maintain an ongoing knowledge of provider's business as well as their contract with OptumRx
  • Provide positive alternatives to complex situations encountered by providers and manage expectations
  • Escalate provider concerns internally and to help solve complex issues
  • Communicate effectively with providers via face-to-face meetings, conference calls and written correspondence
  • Manage contractual obligations including but not limited to contract compliance
  • Be a self-starter, produce quality work, excellent attention to detail, make decisions, and deliver on commitments

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven extensive contract management experience
  • Proven solid negotiation experience and relationship management skills
  • Proven experience of financial analysis and/or modeling experience
  • Demonstrated intermediate level of proficiency with MS Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of provider relations and/or network management experience
  • Proven experience with pharmacy or healthcare claims
  • Demonstrated strategic thinker and/or project management skills
