About the Role zyBooks seeks a full-time team member to oversee projects related to the development and maintenance of interactive web-native learning content for STEM college courses. The Content Project Manager role oversees projects related to the development and maintenance of interactive web-native learning content in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Data Science, and Statistics. This person oversees all aspects of their projects, from inception to final delivery and maintenance, and serves as the hub of communication who coordinates work across teams to ensure success. In addition to working on new and updated zyBooks products, this role also will work with a team managing custom content projects and processes for large institutional clients.
Job Responsibilities
Works with a variety of projects, including single-author or team-based projects, maintenance of existing material, and special projects as needed
Oversees zyBooks projects from initial market research and product definition through final implementation and delivery, plus ongoing improvements
May drive team efforts to define project requirements, goals, and deliverable schedules
Manages the content development and review process, ensuring quality at every stage
Manages work and relationships among internal teams, external authors, contributors, and vendors, as needed
Collaborates with internal teams and institutional customers in partnerships to create custom courses, with an agile and responsive approach
Serves as a hub for communication and status updates for projects being managed, keeping all stakeholders informed and engaged
Schedules and leads team meetings, and participates in cross-functional team meetings
Tracks project progress, reports on key metrics, and takes initiative to address projects that are going off track
Upholds zyBooks standards and processes for content development
Looks for opportunities to improve existing processes and define new ways of completing work
Coordinates work with marketing, sales, engineering, and operations
Manages access, training, and support for internal and external contributors to ensure they can utilize tools and processes for authoring and project management
Monitors project risks and issues, and uses judgment to address or elevate them, as needed
Required Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proactive, organized, highly motivated and responsive
Ability to manage change in projects and still meet goals
Demonstrates good judgment in problem solving and communication
Comfortable with leading meetings and acting as a facilitator for team decision making
Experience working effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional organization
Basic to intermediate web and computer application usage
Experience with XML, MathML and/or LaTeX is a big plus
Familiarity with digital publishing standards and processes
Familiarity or background in math, data science, IT or computer science fields is a plus
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 2+ years of equivalent work experience
Understanding of Agile methodology
PMP or CAPM preferred

Salary Range: 70,400 USD to 98,533 USD
