About

What You Will Do Our consultants on the Defense & Security AI & Data team help clients maximize the value of their data and automate business processes. This high‑performing team works with clients to implement the full spectrum of data analytics and data science, from data querying and wrangling to data engineering, to data visualization, dashboarding, and business intelligence (BI), to predictive analytics, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI). Our services enable our clients to define their information strategy, enable mission‑critical insights and data‑driven decision making, reduce cost and complexity, increase trust, and improve operational effectiveness. This individual will support organizational and mission goals within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This role requires hands‑on technical expertise and strong communication skills.
Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, SQL, and Delta Lake.
Troubleshoot and resolve Databricks job failures, cluster performance issues, data quality gaps, and pipeline bottlenecks.
Implement CI/CD practices for notebooks, workflows, and data jobs.
Lead and review data cleaning scripts using tools such as Python.
Maintain and enhance dashboards, analytics solutions, and reporting tools used in operational and strategic decision making.
Develop dashboards using tools such as Qlik and Tableau.
Collaborate with internal technical and functional teams and serve as a trusted advisor to government clients on data analytics, automation, modeling, and visualization initiatives.
Focus on client services, while also supporting business development, internal firm initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
Operate successfully on remote projects as well as hybrid on‑site projects in the DC metro area.

Qualifications
Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DHS Public Trust.
Bachelor’s degree.
One (1) or more years of experience in data analysis, data engineering, or business analysis.
Experience with Databricks.
Nice to Have
Active DHS Public Trust.
Law Enforcement experience.
Experience using Databricks.
2+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with simulation, transportation/logistics modeling, or operations research.
Ability to identify client needs, build relationships, design, and implement solutions.
Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to explain technical topics to non‑technical audiences.
Familiarity with cloud‑based analytics environments such as Databricks, Palantir, AWS, Azure, or Google.
Experience performing analytics and data transformation using Python.
Proficiency in querying data using SQL and experience optimizing SQL query performance for large datasets.
Ability to gather requirements and present to clients with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with Python, R, or other modern scripting languages used in analytics.
Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and tools for data integration such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft SQL Server tools (SSIS, SSMS, SSAS, SSRS), Azure Synapse Analytics.
