About
We are a growing firm where your voice matters. If you are looking for a ground-floor opportunity to shape a company's future, take true ownership of your projects, and work in an environment built on mutual trust, Evolve is the place for you.
Position Overview We are seeking a driven and client‑centric Electrical Design Engineer with 3 to 6 years of experience to join our team in the Wichita Metropolitan Area. In this hybrid role, you will take ownership of designing electrical systems, power distribution, and lighting infrastructure for a variety of high‑performance projects. This is not a role where you will be micromanaged or lost in the shuffle. We trust our employees to manage their time, collaborate effectively, and deliver excellence. You will work closely with our Principal Engineer and multidisciplinary teams to create detailed, code‑compliant designs using advanced tools like Revit, while enjoying the flexibility and autonomy of a modern, forward‑thinking consulting practice.
What You'll Do
Take ownership: Lead the design of complete electrical systems (power, lighting, fire alarm, data/telecom) for commercial, institutional, and healthcare buildings.
Innovate & optimize: Perform load calculations, short‑circuit, and coordination studies to ensure energy‑efficient, sustainable, and safe electrical infrastructure.
Collaborate seamlessly: Work alongside mechanical and plumbing engineers, architects, and contractors to facilitate 3D coordination and clash detection using Building Information Modeling (BIM).
Drive project success: Prepare detailed construction documents, review submittals, and provide construction administration support to meet project deliverables and timelines.
Build relationships: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, communicating complex electrical concepts with clarity and radical transparency.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
3 to 6 years of experience in MEP electrical design for buildings.
Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA standards, and energy codes.
Proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
Solid grasp of power distribution, lighting design, and load calculations.
A proactive, problem‑solving mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, open‑minded environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, or an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) actively working toward licensure.
Experience with lighting design software (e.g., AGi32) and electrical calculation tools (e.g., SKM or ETAP).
Prior experience in the healthcare, education, or commercial sectors.
