*Clinical Duties*
* *Teeth Cleaning (Prophylaxis):*
* Remove plaque, tartar (calculus), and stains from teeth using hand and ultrasonic instruments.
* *Periodontal Therapy:*
* Perform deep cleanings (scaling and root planing) to treat and prevent gum disease.
* *Examinations & Assessments:*
* Assess oral health by examining teeth and gums, checking for signs of disease or abnormalities.
* Chart periodontal conditions and dental history.
* *X-rays & Imaging:*
* Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) to aid in diagnosis.
* *Sealants and Fluoride Applications:*
* Apply preventive materials like fluoride and dental sealants to protect teeth.
*Patient Education*
*Oral Hygiene Instruction:*
* Teach patients proper brushing, flossing, and overall oral hygiene techniques.
* *Nutritional Counseling:*
* Provide guidance on how diet affects oral health.
* *Smoking Cessation Advice:*
* Educate patients about the effects of smoking on oral and overall health.
*Administrative & Support Tasks*
* *Medical History Review:*
* Update and review patient medical histories, including medications and health conditions.
* *Charting & Documentation:*
* Accurately record findings, treatments, and patient notes in dental records.
* *Sterilization & Infection Control:*
* Ensure all tools and equipment are cleaned, sterilized, and maintained per OSHA and CDC guidelines.
*Collaborative Duties*
* Work closely with dentists to report findings, assist in patient care, and help plan treatment strategies.
* Refer patients to specialists if needed (e.g., periodontists, oral surgeons).

* A minimum of 1-year related experience
* A current RDH license
* An active X-Ray license
