* *Salary: *£35,000-40,000 according to experience.
* *Employment status: *Permanent/Full-time
* *Working pattern:* Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4.30pm. Please note: Occasional out-of-hours work may be required for system updates (e.g., network patching) to prevent business disruption.
* *Location: *Cromhall, South Gloucestershire, GL12 8AX, when office-based. Hybrid working is available once induction and training are complete.
* *Driving license: *A full, clean UK driving license and your own transportation are required due to the office's rural location, which is not easily accessible by public transport.
* *Residency: *UK resident, eligible to work in the UK. Local to Bristol/South Gloucestershire.

*About the role*
This is a varied, hands-on Systems Administrator role covering cloud services, infrastructure, networking, security, web hosting, and user support. You will work across a broad range of technologies and play a key role in maintaining and improving our secure IT environment.
We do not expect applicants to have experience in every listed area; a solid technical foundation, willingness to learn, and strong communication skills matter most.

*About the interview process*
We keep things simple and supportive. You will first meet us in a virtual interview so we can learn a little about you and introduce the role. Successful candidates will be invited to our Cromhall office for a friendly face-to-face meeting, a tour, and a short quiz related to the role. *Key Responsibilities*
* *System & Network Administration:* Manage and maintain our core infrastructure, servers, and networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi).
* *IT Support & Problem Solving: *Diagnose and resolve end-user issues via our ticketing system. Use these insights to proactively improve our systems.
* *Cloud Management:* Administer Microsoft 365 services, AWS-hosted services, and our Linux-based web servers.
* *Security & Compliance:* Maintain security policies, support Cyber Essentials Plus compliance, run phishing simulations, and monitor alerts.
* *Training & Documentation:* Support the Operations Director in producing and delivering internal IT training, while maintaining the asset register and IT documentation.
* *Disaster Recovery: *Develop, test, and manage robust backup and disaster recovery procedures.

You'll be working in a modern, self-managed, secure environment that includes:
* *Core:* Microsoft 365 (Azure, Entra, Intune, Defender, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive, etc.), Windows Server, Hyper‑V, Windows 11 and Android endpoints.
* *Infrastructure & Cloud:* AWS, Cloudflare, Veeam, Synology, UniFi/Dell/Draytek networking.
* *Web & Apps:* PHP/LAMP, GitLab, Debian/Ubuntu, WordPress/WooCommerce, Bitwarden, Freshdesk, Bookstack.
*Essential Skills and Qualifications*
* Proven experience in an IT helpdesk or technical support role
* Proven experience with Microsoft 365 administration
* Good understanding of infrastructure, networks and operating systems
* Strong troubleshooting ability
* Excellent communication, patience and diplomacy
* Ability to write clear documentation
* Eligibility to work in the UK
* Full UK driving licence
*Desirable Skills and Qualifications*
* Computing degree or formal IT qualifications
* Scripting skills (PowerShell, bash, Regex)
* Linux or PHP/LAMP experience
* AWS experience
