What’s the work schedule?
This is an exempt (salaried) position supporting a 3-shift manufacturing facility of 45 direct labor and 2 supervisors. Willingness to work beyond standard business hours to oversee a fast-paced production facility.
What’s the Job?
Learning the production floor from scheduling, mixing, blending, extrusion, running machines and products.
Must be able to run the floor with confidence and delegate when appropriate.
Lead by superior example
Promote a safe work environment by implementing “Stop, Think, and Ask” behaviors with all team members.
Set goals for team members and provide periodic feedback against goals; conduct timely performance reviews; issue disciplinary warnings in coordination with HR and upper management as needed and provide corrective coaching/counseling.
Direct team members’ activities daily to meet department objectives and KPI’s.
Demonstrate positive leadership in words and behavior to create a highly motivated, competent team.
Support the interviewing, hiring, and training of new personnel.
Suggest training to enhance employee performance and skill development.
Work collaboratively with other managers to formulate objectives, understand requirements, and address issues in a timely manner.
Estimate costs and participate in budget preparation
Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
Collaborate with company leadership to attain goals and carry out strategies, plans, and policies to increase profitability and success of the company.
Monitor daily production activities closely, identifying and resolving issues, and consulting with management where needed.
Ensure output meets quality standards.

You and your experience:
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 7 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions one-on-one and from groups of employees, managers, customers, and vendors.
Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic skills in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute weight, volume, ratios, and unit conversion. Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and statistical analysis. Understanding of financial mathematics, budgeting, forecasting, and business metrics.
Reasoning Skills: Ability to define problems, investigate and research, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of data from multiple sources involving abstract and concrete variables. Ability to synthesize information and develop creative solutions.
Computer Skills: Intermediate keyboarding, computer navigation, and data entry skills; knowledge of training (LMS) and safety compliance software/mobile apps, email, video conferencing tools, MS Office Suite, spreadsheets and data analysis tools; ability to create reports and presentations; familiarity with ERP systems, Management Execution Systems (MES), inventory management systems, and project management software, and HRIS preferred.

Physical Demands: The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and walk; speak and hear; reach with hands and arms, including overhead; use hands to finger, handle, grasp and/or feel. They are ocasionally required to climb or balance; bend and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. The employee is occasionally exposed to loud noise (up to 80-100< dB); moving mechanical parts; fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals; wet and/or humid conditions; outside weather conditions; and high, exposed places.
