Mechanical Design Engineer

The ideal candidate will have experience with creating, drafting, and design product layouts and schemes using customer specification and recommendations. You will test products and make adjustments where necessary. Additionally, they will examine broken products and resolve issues for future designs. Responsibilities Perform all 3D & 2D mechanical design work (CAD) Own the complete product development cycle (conception, design/analysis, prototype build/test iterations, SOP) for a variety of UAV systems and components Design & Build Prototypes, including assembly fixtures and tools, document part & build quality Test Prototypes, including designing and building required testing fixtures & setups as well as data acquisition and reporting Collaborate closely with electrical, aerodynamic, and mechanical team members to integrate their expertise early in the design process. Ensure alignment with adjacent teams to optimize performance, reliability, safety, and cost-efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. Show a proactive approach to managing work autonomously, driven by a genuine passion for engineering and design excellence. Required: B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent) 7+ years of work experience in relevant industries/technologies Strong Engineering & Technical Fundamentals High skill level in 3D & 2D Mechanical Design & CAD (including GD&T and DFM) Excellent problem solving & communication skill Basic CAE skills (FEA, CFD, engineering programming, LabView, Matlab/Simulink) Practical hands-on experience building & testing new product designs Participation/Ownership of a full product development cycle Relevant (e.g. UAV systems and components) work experience Advanced CAE skills Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 7+ years' of industry experience Strong knowledge of mechanical parts and computer-aided design
