About The Role

Rue Gilt Groupe is looking for a Principal Engineer to join our expanding Retail Systems Engineering Team in Dublin, IRE. The retail systems/order management team develops robust technology that enables our 35M+ members to complete their exciting online shopping experience starting with the shopping cart and managing their valuable order to shipping and returns. This eCommerce company processes thousands of sales daily and hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue per year. We’re looking for a Principal Engineer who is comfortable working with a team of engineers in an agile environment on our systems integration and development efforts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the decomposition of monolithic applications to microservices.
  • Contribute to moving toward asynchronous, event-driven architectures.
  • Collaborate with a highly talented team of developers and stakeholders to help Rue Gilt Groupe remain a global leader in the industry while leveraging the latest cloud technologies.

Experience And Background Needed

  • Bachelor’s Degree desired, but not required.
  • 5+ years of relevant software development experience.
  • Experience setting the bar for documentation, coding standards, and testing.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum.
  • Experience with Microservices and Containerization.
  • Experience with C#, .Net technologies in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) – NoSQL a plus.
  • Experience with concurrency, multi-threading, and event-driven architectures.
