Irrigation Supervisor

Job Description

Directing irrigation water through ditches and canals to the fields of farmers in the Patte Valley Irrigation district. Other duties include maintaining those ditches and canals during the irrigation season and in the off season. Operating and maintaining heavy equipment needed to maintain the ditches and canals, includes backhoe, dozer, dump truck and excavators from time to time. Maintain gates and checks ( basically, those are structures used to regulate irrigation water to different ditches. Will need a valid drivers license and be able to lift 50 to 100 lbs regularly. Self motivated with a good work ethic is a must. Knowledge of chemical application for herbicides and some firefighting skills would be a plus.
