This position establishes and maintains Food Safety and Quality Control programs, processes and procedures to ensure products manufactured for B&G Foods meet food safety regulatory requirements and B&G specifications. Supervises quality leads and technicians that performs product quality checks. Provides support to operations in addressing food safety and quality issues as necessary. Serves as backup to Sr. FSQA Manager.

Responsibilities: Provides direction, guidance and support for the daily quality control leads & technicians. Ensures that accurate, reliable and timely analyses are performed, documented, and communicated to the appropriate internal and external customers. Ensures daily product compliance with internal specifications and customer expectations. Ensures that all food safety and quality deviations are documented and reported to appropriate personnel and collaborate with them to build appropriate corrective actions. Continuously monitors plant operations to ensure compliance with all quality and food safety programs through regular adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), performance of sanitation audits, food safety checks (HACCP), and product quality checks conducted according to organization policies & applicable SQF Code. Actively participate in prevention and correction of quality-related errors. Communicates nonconforming results to internal operations, purchasing, planning, and suppliers when necessary. Makes decisions to accept/reject nonconforming products. Implements and maintain satisfactory results on microbiological and chemical proficiency testing programs within the quality chemical, physical, and microbiological laboratories (using internal and external labs) Utilizes SPC and other statistical tools to improve areas within the QA function. Produce and distribute reports analyzing QA, Food Safety and Microbiological data and trends of raw materials and finished products. Provide recommendations to management where unacceptable QA or Food Safety results have been identified. Responsible for reporting all food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. Assists with any corrective actions. Participates in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities and recommending changes within own area of responsibility & thereby help improve applicable KPI performance. Responsible to make sure a good safe wholesome product is produced safely. Administration of quality systems programs as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Assumes the duties of the FSQ Lead/technicians and other tasks as assigned by the Sr. FSQA Manager, in their absence. Experience, Skills, Education:

Associate's degree Required. Bachelor's Degree Preferred, with a focus in Food Technology, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or other related field Three to Five years of Quality Management in the food industry; Required Completed HACCP, SQF, PCQI certifications Preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint); Required Planning, Organizing, Coordinating and Leadership skills Strong Problem Solving and Decision-Making skills Demonstrate ability to Communicate effectively both written and verbally Ability to work in conditions, which include multiple, and sometimes conflicting priorities, extended work schedules, and specific time constraints Interact well with other employees, be able to work in food manufacturing facility and adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices Effective Time-Management Skills.
